Renea Bell, General Manager at Kitchen 44 inside Newcastle Casino, answered this month's Q&A. She's been with us since the beginning of 2012 and has experience at several of our properties including the beverage department at Goldsby Gaming Center, Fork Cafe & Brook Bar at Saltcreek Casino, and Aces Sports Grill at Chisholm Trail Casino. She's always willing to jump in and help out where needed and strives to lead her team to success no matter where she is. Her dedication to our company earned her the Small Property Manager of the Year Award in 2014.
Q: How did you get involved with Traditions Spirits?
A: I am from Augusta, Kansas. When all of my family had passed, I loaded up my car and moved to Norman with an old friend of mine. Two days later, I applied for the bar manager position at Goldsby Gaming Center, and was hired to start on January 27th, 2012. The rest of the story is still being written...
Q: What is your most vivid memory (recently or in the past) of Traditions Spirits?
A: There are so many great memories it's hard to choose. I would say that my overall favorite memory is the feeling I have when I can help my team achieve happiness and success.
Q: Can you tell me about Kitchen 44?
A: Kitchen 44 is an escape from the lights and sounds of Newcastle Casino. It is THE place to gather when you want to enjoy a hearty meal or a simple piece of pie with fresh brewed coffee while being treated like family.
Q: What is your favorite food at Kitchen 44?
A: That's a hard one. When I'm in the mood for a sandwich I prefer the Loaded Philly. My favorite dinner is the Grilled Chicken with double steamed Broccoli. But, I can have my blueberry pancakes any time of day which is a horrible thing for my waistline!
Q: What is the best part of Kitchen 44?
A: The team. There is so much passion in that restaurant it's amazing. They truly care about the product they put out and the service given.
Q: Any new or exciting developments that we can look forward to?
A: We are now offering daily specials and our K44 Fried Chicken that's better than the Colonels! Who knows what the team will come up with next. That's the fun!
